Time & Date Calc - Aviation lands on the App Store
Time & Date Calc - Aviation is our time and date suite rebuilt as a native SwiftUI app for iPhone and iPad, sitting alongside the original Time & Date Calculator on Android. Same everyday tools people already relied on, plus a set of features specifically for pilots and aviation professionals who need numbers they can trust.
Built for the ramp, not just the desk
The aviation side of the app covers pilot fuel planning — cruise fuel flow, trip time, contingency and final reserve, taxi and alternate fuel — and aviation component forecasting, which tracks life-remaining and service-due hours for tracked components. Alongside that sit the tools everyone needs day to day: a date calculator for adding or subtracting spans, a time zone converter, a workdays calculator that excludes weekends and holidays, and an age calculator.
The same expense splitter, natively
We also brought over the expense splitter from the Android app — split a bill between people, see who pays what, and get a suggested settle-up list — rebuilt as a native iOS experience rather than a ported view. It's the same idea that later grew into its own standalone app, Expenses: Bill & Trip Splitter.
Why native, not cross-platform
We could have shipped a cross-platform wrapper faster. We didn't, because a calculator app lives or dies on how it feels to use under pressure — fast input, no lag, no layout quirks that don't match the platform. Building natively in SwiftUI means the app behaves the way an iPhone or iPad user already expects it to, down to keyboard behavior and haptics.
