Terms of Service — Expenses (iOS)

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Expenses, a mobile application for iPhone and iPad developed and published by KavNik Technologies Pvt Ltd ("Company", "we", "our", or "us").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Your use of the App Store and Apple services is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms where they apply. If Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) applies to the App, it supplements these Terms where not inconsistent.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Expenses as distributed on the App Store, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of the App
The App is distributed on the Apple App Store for compatible iOS and iPadOS devices. It provides features including but not limited to:
- Home hub with cards for My Expenses, Expense Splitter, Roommates, Couple, Personal Travel, and EMI / Subscriptions
- Shared expense spaces with participants, categories, receipts, exports, and settlement-style results
- My Expenses monthly rollup views, charts, optional income and budget flows, and AI insight surfaces
- Optional iCloud sync; widgets, Siri / Shortcuts, and local notifications where enabled
- Settings for profile, currency, appearance, sync diagnostics, Premium, and legal links
Primary ledger data is stored on your device. Optional sync uses Apple’s iCloud. Receipt files may live in the same shared on-device storage the widget can read. KavNik does not operate a separate KavNik-hosted ledger service for ordinary use.
3. License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and Apple’s rules, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App except as allowed by applicable law
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App where prohibited by law or license
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
4. In-App Purchases & Refunds
4.1 Expense Tracker and Splitter Pro
The App offers Expense Tracker and Splitter Pro through Apple’s in-app purchase system, including subscription and/or lifetime options shown on your App Store listing. The live listing and in-app paywall show what is available in your region.
Pro unlocks the full AI Spending Insights / Spending Coach experience described in-app. Other features may remain available without Pro as shown in the current build.
4.2 Payment processing
Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
4.3 Refunds
Refund requests follow Apple’s refund process. You may also contact us at support@kavniktech.com for assistance coordinating with Apple where appropriate.
5. Permissions & system features
The App may request or use:
- Camera and Photo Library — receipt capture and avatars
- Contacts — optional name picking where offered
- Microphone and Speech Recognition — voice-driven entry where enabled
- Network — in-app purchases, optional exchange-rate hints, and iCloud
- Notifications — EMI or subscription reminders when you allow them
- iCloud — optional private sync
- Siri and Shortcuts — shortcuts you configure
Exact prompts depend on iOS version and your choices in Settings.
6. Intellectual Property
All rights in the App remain with KavNik Technologies Pvt Ltd. You may not use our names or logos without permission.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App lawfully, keep your device secure, and verify important totals (for example tax, legal, or contractual obligations) independently. Do not attempt to circumvent Pro entitlements or abuse exports or sync.
8. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by law, KavNik Technologies Pvt Ltd disclaims liability for errors in splits or rollups, iCloud or device data loss, downtime, FX hint inaccuracy, or indirect damages. The App is a consumer finance aid—not tax, legal, investment, or accounting advice.
9. Disclaimer on financial accuracy
Results, charts, AI summaries, and exchange-rate hints are for informational use. Independently verify any outcome you rely on for obligations or disputes.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may cease distribution or updates subject to Apple’s policies.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; the date above will change. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires otherwise.
12. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate Apple for purchases and iCloud, and optional Frankfurter rate data. Your use of those services is subject to their terms and policies.
13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be subject to the courts of India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence where they cannot be waived.
14. Severability
If a provision is invalid, the remainder remains enforceable.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and KavNik regarding the App, subject to Apple’s applicable terms for App Store distribution.
